Certified Translations and Interpreting for Private Clients & Expats

German-English language services for official documents, authorities, notarial appointments, real estate purchases, financing matters, and important personal matters.

Linguaforum GmbH supports private clients, expats, and international clients in Wiesbaden, Frankfurt, and the Rhine-Main area when documents need to be translated or certified, or when appointments require professional language support.

Whether you need help with a birth certificate, marriage certificate, police clearance certificate, diploma, real estate purchase agreement, loan agreement, or notarial appointment, I help you understand the linguistic and formal requirements involved.

When German paperwork becomes linguistically demanding

Anyone living, working, getting married, buying property, or submitting official documents in Germany will sooner or later encounter language requirements.

Sometimes a standard translation is enough. Often, however, authorities, courts, registry offices, universities, employers, banks, or notaries require a certified translation. In other situations, the main issue is not a written translation, but an appointment where every detail needs to be understood — for example at a notary’s office.

Especially for expats and international clients, it can be difficult to determine what kind of language support is actually required. This is exactly where I can help: personally, clearly, and with experience in official and legal documents.

01.

Common situations
Why private clients and expats need translations

The reasons for needing a certified translation vary widely. Common purposes include administrative procedures, marriage matters, job applications, visa or residence matters, recognition procedures, university applications, professional documentation, or company formations.

Certified translations into English may also be required when German documents are to be used abroad — for example with authorities, universities, employers, business partners, or other institutions.

If you are unsure what kind of translation is needed, you can let me know which institution will receive the document and what it is intended for. I will provide an initial assessment of what type of translation may be appropriate.

02.

Interpreting at notarial appointments
When you need to fully understand what happens at the notary’s office

For many private clients, a notarial appointment is an important moment — especially when buying or selling real estate.

These appointments involve legally binding declarations, significant financial obligations, and documents whose consequences must be fully understood. If a party does not have sufficient command of German, a sworn interpreter may be required for the notarization.

I support clients in particular with:

  • real estate purchase agreements

  • land charge deeds

  • powers of attorney

  • loan and financing matters

  • other notarial declarations with an international element

Professional interpreting helps you follow the appointment with confidence, ask questions, and understand the substance of the notarization.

03.

Support with loan agreements

When buying real estate, financing through a bank is often involved. In some cases, the bank may require confirmation that the borrower has understood the German-language loan agreement.

In these situations, I go through the loan agreement with you in detail and may subsequently issue a corresponding confirmation for the bank in my capacity as a sworn language professional.

The meeting can be arranged by appointment — either in Wiesbaden or in a suitable online format.

04.

For Americans in Wiesbaden and the Rhine-Main area

A particular focus is on English-speaking clients, including U.S. citizens, expats, and Americans living, working, or stationed in Wiesbaden, Frankfurt, or the surrounding region.

Questions often arise when dealing with German authorities, banks, notaries, or institutions:

Do I need a certified translation?
Does the document need to be translated into German or into English?
Is a scan sufficient, or do I need a signed certified translation?
Do I need an interpreter for my notarial appointment?

I help you understand the situation and organize the right language support.

How to send an inquiry

For a certified translation, please send me a scan or clearly readable photo of the document. Please also let me know which language direction is required, when you need the translation, and which institution it is intended for.

For an interpreting appointment, it is helpful to include the date, location, purpose, language combination, and expected duration.

If you are not yet sure what is required, that is perfectly fine. Briefly describe your situation, and I will get back to you with an initial assessment.

Would you like to drop off your original documents in person or collect completed translations at the office? Please contact us to schedule an appointment during office hours.
