Certified German-English Translations in Wiesbaden

For authorities, courts, notaries, registries, companies, and private clients — reliable, complete, and in the required form.

As a sworn translator for the English language, I provide certified German-English translations for official purposes in Germany and abroad.

Whether you need a contract, commercial register excerpt, birth certificate, marriage certificate, police clearance certificate, or diploma translated, I support you personally, precisely, and with experience in official and legal documents.

When a standard translation is not enough

For official procedures, a standard translation is often not sufficient.

When documents need to be submitted to authorities, courts, notaries, registries, universities, banks, or other institutions, a certified translation may be required.

With a certified translation, the translator confirms that the translation is accurate and complete. This makes the translation suitable for official purposes, provided it has been prepared by a duly sworn or authorized translator.

What is a certified translation?

Accurate. Complete. In the required form.

As a sworn translator for the English language, I confirm the accuracy and completeness of the translation.

The certified translation includes:

  • a certification statement

  • stamp

  • signature

This makes it a formally certified translation that can be used for submission to official bodies.

Important: In Germany, certified translations cannot be prepared by just anyone. They must be issued by appropriately sworn or authorized translators.

For Companies and Law Firms

Certified translations for legal and business documents

Companies, law firms, and notaries often require certified translations when foreign-language documents need to be submitted in Germany or when German documents are to be used abroad.

Typical documents include:

  • contracts

  • pleadings

  • court judgments and decisions

  • shareholder resolutions

  • commercial register excerpts

  • articles of association and bylaws

  • powers of attorney

  • registration and incorporation documents

  • other corporate documents

Certified translations are commonly required in court proceedings, registry filings, real estate transactions, company formations, administrative procedures, or international business relationships.

For Private Clients and Expats

Certified translations of personal documents

Private clients also frequently need certified translations, for example for authorities, employers, universities, registry offices, or recognition procedures.

Typical documents include:

  • birth certificates

  • marriage certificates

  • divorce decrees

  • death certificates

  • police clearance certificates

  • residence registration certificates

  • school records

  • university transcripts

  • diplomas and certificates

  • employment references

  • application documents

Common purposes include administrative procedures, marriage matters, job applications, visa or residence matters, recognition procedures, university applications, or professional documentation.

Language Directions

German ↔ English

My focus is on certified translations in the following language directions:

  • English → German

  • German → English

  •

For submission to German authorities, courts, notaries, or institutions, a certified German translation of English-language documents is often required.

Conversely, certified translations of German documents into English are often needed for foreign authorities, universities, employers, business partners, or institutions.

Certified translations into and from other European languages may be available upon request through a carefully selected network of experts.

I will be happy to help you determine which language direction and form of translation are appropriate for your specific purpose.

Process

How to request a certified translation

For an initial assessment, please send me:

  • the document as a scan or clearly readable photo

  • the required language direction

  • the intended use

  • your deadline

  • any specific requirements from the receiving institution

I will review your inquiry and get back to you with an assessment of scope, timing, and cost.

Depending on the intended use, the certified translation can then be sent by mail, collected in person, or — where sufficient — provided digitally.
