Linguaforum GmbH supports real estate agents, developers, project stakeholders, financing professionals, companies, and private buyers and sellers with German-English language matters relating to real estate.
Whether you need support with a purchase agreement, property brochure, notarial appointment, or loan agreement, I help ensure that international parties can understand the relevant documents and procedures with confidence.
When real estate transactions become international
Real estate transactions in Germany are increasingly international. International buyers, sellers, investors, and expats have become part of everyday practice, especially in the Rhine-Main area, Wiesbaden, and Frankfurt.
For a real estate transaction involving international parties to run smoothly, more is needed than a literal translation. The purchase agreement, notarial appointment, financing, land register matters, powers of attorney, and official documents all need to be handled accurately and in their legal context.
This is where Linguaforum supports you with German-English translations and interpreting services for real estate projects, purchase processes, and notarial appointments.

For real estate agents, developers, and real estate professionals
If you market properties to international buyers, work with foreign investors, or support English-speaking parties in a transaction, professional language support is an important element of trust.
I support you with the translation of property brochures, presentations, draft purchase agreements, powers of attorney, land register and commercial register documents, correspondence, and other real estate-related documents.
Professional interpreting support can also be essential at notarial appointments, particularly when parties do not speak enough German to understand the legal implications of a real estate purchase agreement with confidence.
This enables real estate agents, developers, project stakeholders, and financing professionals to offer their international clients a professional, structured, and understandable process.
02.
Real estate purchase agreements and notarial appointments
In Germany, the purchase of land, houses, condominium units, and heritable building rights must be notarized. During the notarial appointment, the purchase agreement is read aloud in full.
For international parties, this appointment can be demanding. The agreement contains legal, financial, and practical provisions with significant consequences, such as payment of the purchase price, transfer of possession and benefits and burdens, warranty, rescission, powers of attorney, and financing.
A written translation of the purchase agreement can help clarify questions in advance and prepare the appointment effectively. At the notarial appointment itself, professional interpreting helps ensure that all parties can follow the content of the notarization.
If a party does not have sufficient command of the German language, Section 16 of the German Notarization Act may require a sworn interpreter, unless the notary provides the translation or interpretation personally.
03.
Financing and loan agreements
Financing documents often play a central role in real estate purchases. International buyers frequently receive loan agreements and bank documents in German, but may need to demonstrate to the bank that they have understood the content.
In addition to translating the purchase agreement or interpreting at the notarial appointment, I offer a dedicated service for foreign-language borrowers:
I go through the German-language loan agreement with the buyers in detail and may subsequently issue a corresponding confirmation for the bank in my capacity as a sworn language professional.
The meeting can be arranged by appointment — either in Wiesbaden or in a suitable online format.

Certified translations for real estate transactions
Certified translations may also be required in connection with real estate transactions, for example when documents need to be submitted to authorities, notaries, registries, banks, or other official bodies.
Typical documents include:
-
powers of attorney
-
commercial register excerpts
-
land register excerpts
-
corporate documents
-
identity documents and civil status records
-
court or official documents
-
financing and supporting documents
As a sworn translator for the English language, I provide certified German-English translations for official purposes in Germany and abroad.
