Language Services for Law Firms and Notaries

German-English legal translations, certified translations, and interpreting — precise, confidential, and grounded in an understanding of legal procedures.

Linguaforum GmbH supports attorneys, notaries, commercial law firms, and in-house legal departments with demanding language projects in legal and notarial contexts. This is not simply about transferring individual words correctly. It is about terminology, structure, intended use, and an understanding of how legal documents and appointments work in practice.

When legal communication becomes international

International matters, foreign-language corporate documents, notarial deeds, pleadings, and contracts have long been part of everyday practice for many law firms and notaries.

At the same time, the circumstances are often demanding: deadlines are tight, documents are confidential, legal issues are complex, and client expectations are high. A legal translation therefore has to do more than provide a linguistically accurate rendering. It must convey the content clearly, use terminology consistently, and take the intended purpose of the document into account.

As a sworn translator for the English language, I support you at exactly this interface — with German-English legal translations, certified translations, and interpreting services for legal and notarial requirements.

01.

Legal translations for your client work

Whether you are dealing with a contract draft, statement of claim, shareholder resolution, or commercial register excerpt, legal documents can only serve their purpose reliably if they are understood precisely — both linguistically and legally.

I regularly translate documents from corporate, civil, commercial, and notarial contexts. These include contracts, pleadings, statements of claim and statements of defense, court judgments and decisions, notarial deeds, commercial register and land register excerpts, articles of association, bylaws, powers of attorney, legal opinions, terms and conditions, privacy policies, compliance and governance documents, annual financial statements, and annual reports.

Minutes of shareholders’ meetings, annual general meetings, or supervisory board meetings, as well as presentations for clients, investors, management, or supervisory boards, may also form part of the cooperation.

Depending on the intended use, these translations can be prepared either as specialist legal translations or — where required — as certified translations.

02.

Certified translations for courts, authorities, and registries

When foreign-language documents are to be submitted to German courts, authorities, notaries, or registries, a standard translation is often not sufficient. In these cases, a certified translation may be required.

This may apply, for example, to commercial register documents, corporate documents, court judgments, decisions, powers of attorney, foreign contracts, pleadings and exhibits, or other documents intended for submission to official bodies.

As a sworn translator for the English language, I confirm the accuracy and completeness of certified translations by means of a certification statement, stamp, and signature. You receive a translation in the required form that can be used for the relevant official purpose.

03.

Interpreting for notaries and legally sensitive appointments

At notarial appointments involving international parties, professional language mediation is particularly sensitive. These appointments involve legally binding declarations, significant commercial decisions, and often documents whose implications must be fully understood by everyone involved.

I support notaries and parties in particular with real estate purchase agreements, land charge deeds, powers of attorney, corporate notarizations, and declarations with an international element.

In these settings, linguistic precision is essential. Just as important are a clear understanding of the procedure, a precise awareness of roles, and the ability to render legal content orally in a reliable manner — without providing legal advice.

04.

Selected corporate and governing body meetings

In addition to notarial appointments, I also support selected corporate interpreting assignments. These include annual general meetings, supervisory board meetings, European Works Councils, shareholders’ meetings, negotiations, and important client or business meetings.

In these formats, discretion, preparation, and terminological confidence are essential. Multilingual communication should not disrupt or slow down the process. It should support the meeting professionally and reliably.

How to send an inquiry

For an initial assessment, please send me the document to be translated or a brief description of the planned appointment.

It is also helpful to include the language direction, intended use, deadline, and whether certification is required. For interpreting appointments, please include the date, location, subject matter, language combination, and expected duration.

I will review your inquiry and get back to you promptly with an assessment of scope, timing, and cost.
